Clothes collection

Lisaniskey N.S. Parents’ Association are organising a clothes collection. We are collecting clean clothes, curtains, towels, soft toys, shoes, handbags and belts.

  Collection of items will take place at Clooneycolgan Community Centre in Oran parish on Sunday, 26th of November (10.30 am-12 noon), Wednesday, 29th of November (9 am-10 am) and Thursday, 30th of November (9 am-10 am). All donations are greatly appreciated.

An afternoon of prayer in Curraghboy

Prayers for the Protection of Life and the Preservation of Faith in Ireland will take place at Our Lady Star of the Sea Prayer Centre, Curraghboy, Athlone on Sunday (26th) commencing at 2.30 pm with Fr. Seamus O’Donohue. All are most welcome. Contact 086-4054489 for more information.

Table quiz in Spells

A table quiz in aid of Ballaghaderreen Community Park will take place in Spells Bar on Pound Street on Thursday, December 7th at 8.30 pm sharp.

Christmas Fair in Ballinagare on Sunday

Ballinagare Community Centre Ladies Club are holding a Christmas Fair on this coming Sunday, 26th of November from 12 noon to 4 pm in the Community Centre (behind the Church).

  There will be crafts, cakes and produce, raffles and many other stalls. All welcome. No admission charge. Come along and join us for some festive fun and shopping

Mass for Healing in Curraghboy

A Special Mass for Healing of the Family Tree will take place at Our Lady Star of the Sea Prayer Centre, Curraghboy, Athlone on Friday, December 1st commencing at 8 pm. The celebrant will be Fr. John Walsh. Confessions will be available from 7 pm, prior to Holy Mass and individual blessings for healing will take place after Mass. All are welcome.

Ballymoe’s Christmas Craft Fair

The annual Ballymoe Christmas Craft Fair will take place on Sunday, November 26th in the Fr. Flanagan Centre, Ballymoe from 11.30 am to 4.30 pm.

  Included in this year’s fair is a kids’ Christmas fancy dress with prizes, raffle with fantastic prizes, Christmas wreaths and gifts, home-baking, crafts, jewellery, candles and lots more. A fun-filled day for all the family! Stallholders can contact Eileen on 086-4527060 to book a table.

Free garden bird event

Join Jamie Durrant from BirdWatch Ireland and find out how to feed birds effectively with the best types of food and feeders, at their free garden bird event, in the Ardcarne Garden Centre, Boyle, on Sunday, 26th of November at 2 pm.

  You’ll also discover how to identify different birds and how to encourage them to nest in your garden. All are welcome.

Ballymoe Development Group AGM

All members of the community of Ballymoe, sports groups and activity groups are invited to the AGM of Ballymoe Development Centre Ltd.

  The past few years have been very successful with a number of projects being completed as well as the development of the group’s supporting role with local sub-committees, who have bright new ideas to the community.

  The AGM takes place on Tuesday, November 28th at 8 pm at the Fr. Flanagan Memorial Centre. 

  Under the group’s Constitution, changes to the membership of the existing committee is necessary. The group is therefore earnestly requesting everyone to attend this meeting in order to secure the future of the centre.

Organisers at the St. Vincent de Paul St. Coman’s Conference in Roscommon town would like to thank everyone who contributed so generously to their recent church gate collection. The amount raised was €1,878.

Annual Ladies Night at the Mart

Roscommon Mart will play host to its annual Ladies’ Night on Monday, December 4th at 8 pm in the mart canteen.

  Highlights on the night include: Flower Arranging by Anne Harlow, Signature Flowers;

Holistic Massage & Aromatherapy by Marian Noone; Nutrition with Anne Quirke and Rachel Feeley Designs’ bespoke hats and jewellery.

  This event includes free admission with refreshments served and raffle on the night with all proceeds going to charity.

Christmas Craft and Fair Market in Glenamaddy – free family event!

Glenamaddy Town Twinning Committee is set to host a Christmas Craft and Fair Market this Sunday (26th) from 11 am to 4 pm at the Community Centre on the Creggs Road. This is a free admission family event.

  The market will feature over 35 food and craft local producers, face painting and craft activities for kids, raffle with fantastic spot prizes and music performed by Craobh Tom Morrison CCE from 12 to 1 pm. Santa will also visit the Credit Union the day before, on Saturday 25th, from 1 pm to 3 pm!
