Family Carers Ireland to host public meeting

Family Carers Ireland will host a public meeting next Monday (10th) in The Bloomfield House Hotel, Mullingar, from 10 am to 1 pm to be followed by a free lunch. 

  Families from counties Laois, Offaly Longford, Westmeath, Meath and Roscommon will be in attendance on the day. All TDs and MEPs from those areas are invited to listen to the voice of carers and hear about the challenges they face.  

  This event is free and a free bus will be laid on but it is essential that you contact Bernie Dowling on 086-8099494 with name and phone number in order to confirm your attendance and whether or not you require a seat.

Rescheduled Ballintubber Cemetery Mass

The Annual Ballintubber Cemetery Mass, which was cancelled due to the inclement weather last Sunday, will now take place this Sunday (9th) at 3 pm and will be followed by tea/coffee and scones in the Old School House in Ballintubber.

Cake Sale for Clooncagh NS

Clooncagh NS will host a fundraising Cake Sale at the school from 1 pm to 3 pm on Friday, June 14th. There will also be a raffle on the day. Please contact Antoinette (087-7936493) or Sandra (087-7694741) if you would like to donate a cake. All support on the day would be greatly appreciated.

Bees and Butterflies at Ardcarne

Ardcarne Garden Centres in Boyle and Roscommon town will play host to a ‘Gardening for Bees and Butterflies’ event on Saturday, June 15th from 11 am until 12 noon. Discover how to help native pollinating insects and encourage other wildlife in your own garden. This is a free event and all are welcome.

Clean-up at Kilcroan Cemetery

The next clean-up of Kilcroan Cemetery will take place this Sunday (9th). Áirc Midlands Coffee Morning in Melting Pot

Áirc Midlands will host a Coffee Morning in The Melting Pot, Roscommon Town next Tuesday (11th) at 11 am for family, friends and supporters of children with additional needs. For more information on this event or any of the work Áirc Midlands does, log on to or call 085-1194041.

Roscommon MS Church gate collections

The Co. Roscommon branch of MS Ireland will hold annual Church gate collections on Saturday and Sunday (15th and 16th) at the following Churches: Ballinamore Bridge/Toghergar, Ballygar, Ballymoe, Glinsk and Newbridge. The following weekend (22nd and 23rd) collections will take place at Athleague Church.

  As this is the main source of income for the local branch they are requesting the public’s usual generous support in order to continue the important work they commenced over forty years ago.

  Branch members would like to extend a word of gratitude to supporters as well as Church gate collectors and their helpers.
