Fundraising TedFest for Ballaghaderreen
A taste of the annual TedFest on the Aran islands is coming to Spells Bar, Ballaghaderreen on Friday, 6th of July.
Fr. Ted fan and veteran of TedFest Niamh Foley is organising TedMest, a night of all things Ted such as ‘the lovely girls’, ‘teapot shots’, ‘cake jumper comp’ ‘the priest dance-off’ and many more Tedish happenings.
Niamh is also asking everybody to dress up as their favourite character from the tv show. There will also be a raffle and all proceeds from the night will rest in the BUMBLEance account.
Unique to Ireland, BUMBLEance is an ambulance service for sick children, endeavouring to make difficult journeys as comfortable and entertaining as possible.
Niamh is doing a skydive in Co. Donegal in August for the BUMBLEance service.
The fun and games of TedMest kick off in Spells Bar, Ballaghaderreen at 9 pm sharp on Friday, 6th of July. For information on the event, sourcing costumes, etc., call Spells on 094-98 60144.
Car Boot Sale at Casey’s Londis
The Roscommon RSPCA and Pieta House are holding a Car Boot Sale at Casey’s Londis, Roscommon town on Sunday, July 1st. All support would be greatly appreciated.
Perennial Plant Event at Ardcarne
A free Perennial Plant Event will take place at Ardcarne Garden Centre in Boyle on Saturday, June 30th from 11.30 am-12.30 pm.
Passionate plants man James Wickham will be in attendance for an Illustrated talk on perennial flowers and to show visitors how to make the most of these easy, colourful and versatile plants in gardens.
Defibrillator training in Glenamaddy
Defibrillator and CPR Training, facilitated by an Irish Heart Foundation Instructor, will be held in the Old Tech, Glenamaddy on Tuesday, August 7th from 10 am to 12 noon and 2 pm to 4 pm.

Summer school works welcomed
Minister Denis Naughten and Fine Gael Senator Frank Feighan have welcomed the approval of summer works schemes for Glanduff NS in Co. Roscommon and St. Gabriel’s NS, Ballinasloe. The schools have both been approved for summer works by the Department of Education following recent appeals.
“This will allow both schools to carry out necessary small scale works that will improve and upgrade existing school buildings,” stated Minister Naughten.
Senator Feighan welcomed the funding approval for Glanduff NS.
“I am pleased that funding for these works has been approved for the school. These works will be carried out in the school over the summer months when pupils are on holidays,” he said.
Dalgan Park/Columban Missionaries visit
On Monday, 9th of July, a bus will depart from the Sacred Heart Church grounds in Roscommon at 8.45 am, to visit the Columban Missionaries at Dalgan Park, Navan, Co. Meath.
