Meeting of Rahara Graveyard committee
A meeting of the Rahara Old Church and Graveyard Committee will be held in Rahara National School on Monday, June 24th at 9 pm. All welcome.
Annual Fuerty Cemetery Mass
The annual Fuerty Cemetery Mass will take place on Friday, June 28th. Families are invited to tidy up their graves and to remove all withered flowers and wreaths that are not looking their best from graves. The Mass will take place at 7 pm.
Solstice Choir at St Joseph’s Church
Roscommon Solstice Choir will perform in St. Joseph’s Church, Boyle on Friday, June 21st at 8.30 pm. Admission €10 and doors open at 8 pm (bring a cushion). All proceeds will go towards St. Joseph’s Church, Boyle Church of Ireland and Touch Ireland (Shannonside Group).
MS Ireland Church gate collections
This Saturday and Sunday (June 22nd and 23rd), Co. Roscommon branch of MS Ireland is holding its annual Church gate collection at Mass times at Athleague Church.
Branch work is made possible through fundraising and the branch would like to extend a word of gratitude to its loyal Church gate collectors and their helpers.
As this is its main source of income, the branch is asking for the public’s usual generous support to ensure it can continue its work which began over forty years ago in this area.
Local Forum meetings take summer break
Roscommon, Galway and Mayo Local Forum meetings are taking a break for the summer holidays. Meetings will recommence in September.
Roscommon GAA Kelloggs Cúl Camps
The annual Roscommon GAA Kelloggs Cúl camp will take place in Dr. Hyde Park from Monday, July 1st to Friday, July 5th from 10 am to 2.30 pm daily for boys and girls aged between 6 and 13 years. Each child who attends the camp will receive a jersey, half-zip training top and backpack.
Cost is €60 per child, €115 for two children, €160 for three, and €45 per child thereafter.
Online booking is essential at kelloggsculcamps.ie in order to guarantee your child a place at the camp.

Country Music fundraiser in Foxe’s pub
Foxe’s Pub in Roscommon will play host to a Country Music Night fundraiser this Friday (June 21st) from 9 pm in order to raise funds for Ireland’s DiaEuro Futsal squad ahead of their upcoming trip to Kiev in the Ukraine for July’s European Championships.
Local man, Aidan Raftery, is the team’s sports therapist and the team is made up of players who have Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes. Ireland will compete at the European DiaEuro Futsal Championships from July 21st to July 26th. Funds raised at this Saturday’s event will go towards flights, accommodation, equipment and gear, etc.
Music on the night will be provided by Adrian Martin Murphy and there will be a draw with some great prizes on offer. There are also Diabetes Ireland sponsorship cards in businesses around Roscommon at €2 per line or €5 for three lines. The draw will take place on the night.
