Man arrested A man in his early 20s was arrested for alleged public drunkenness in the early hours of last Saturday morning at Castle Street, Roscommon. The incident took place at 1.00 am. The man was reportedly drunk and asleep. He has been charged to appear at Roscommon District Court next Tuesday. Fraud investigated Gardaí are investigating an incident of fraud that took place at a filling station at Farnbeg in Strokestown. A lady bought five euro phone credit with a counterfeit €50 note and left the building with €45. The incident took place on May 5th at 6.30 pm. Motorist arrested A woman was arrested for alleged drink driving at Carroward, Four Roads, in the early hours of Monday morning. She was arrested just after midnight and was charged at Roscommon Garda Station to appear at Roscommon District Court next Tuesday. Theft reported Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following the theft of a large quantity of copper wire from the ESB sub station on Roscommon’s Lanesboro Road last weekend. Several rolls of wire were stolen between the 9th and the 12th of May. Attempted break-in  An attempted break-in at a house in Celtic Avenue took place last Saturday morning. The incident took place 5.15 am. When the culprits forced a back window. The alarm was activated when the back window was forced and the culprits fled the scene. Gardaí are appealing for witnesses. Laptops stolen  Two laptops were stolen from an office at Castle Street, Roscommon, that was burgled last weekend. Intruders forced a rear window of the office, which stands over Bogart’s amusements arcade, and stole the two valuable computers between Friday evening and Monday morning. Gardaí are appealing for information. Man assaulted  A young Roscommon town man was assaulted in the early hours of last Sunday morning at Lanesboro Street by two males and a female. The man, who was walking home, was assailed between 2.00 pm and 2.15 pm and was beaten. The three attackers were spotted on the New Mart road shortly before the incident. Gardaí are seeking helpful information. The young man was brought to hospital on Sunday. Wallet found  A wallet containing a large some of money was handed into Roscommon Garda Station yesterday [Wednesday] afternoon. The wallet was found on the Ballinagard Road, Roscommon.
