Train passenger arrested A passenger on the Westport to Dublin train was arrested by Gardaí from Castlerea Garda Station on Saturday morning last. Between 7.45 am and 8.15 am, a passenger on the train reported that she had money stolen by another passenger. Gardaí boarded the train at Castlerea and a suspect was identified and arrested and brought to Castlerea Garda Station. Money was recovered and a file is now being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions. Drugs found A man was found in possession of drugs outside Castlerea Prison on Saturday last. Gardaí recovered a small quantity of cannabis, believed to be worth between €20 and €30. A file on the matter is being prepared for the DPP. Public order incidents Gardaí in Castlerea responded to four public order incidents over the weekend. On Sunday night at 10.30 pm a man was arrested for public order at The Square, Ballaghaderreen. On the same date, a woman was arrested in Castlerea at 11.30 pm for shouting and being abusive in the street. On Wednesday, a 36-year-old was found intoxicated in Ballaghaderreen, while on on Sunday night, a man was arrested in Castlerea for being intoxicated and shouting abuse in the street at ten minutes past midnight. Assault in Roscommon Gardaí in Roscommon are investigating a complaint of assault that occurred at the Square, Roscommon, on Sunday night. A woman in her mid 20s complained that she was boxed into the face by a man. Gardaí have a suspect in mind and investigations are ongoing. Drunken driving arrest One man in his mid 30s was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving at Lanesboro Road, Roscommon, after midnight on Thursday night last. The man was charged and is due to appear at Roscommon District Court on June 17th. Copper stolen One person has appeared in court in Galway after copper was stolen from a house at Woodbrook, Newbridge on Thursday last. The theft occurred between 9 am and 6 pm. Gardaí later arrested two people in a follow up enquiry in Galway and one person appeared at Galway District Court on June 9th last.
