Senator John Ellis has been appointed Government Spokesperson on Transport in Seanad Eireann. Senator Ellis has also been appointed second speaker on Arts, Sports and Tourism, and third speaker on Environment, Heritage and Local Government. Commenting from Leinster House Senator Ellis said he was delighted and honoured to be appointed by the Taoiseach to these important portfolios. ‘I was Chair of the Joint Oireachtas Committee on Transport in the last Dáil, so I have long-standing experience and interest in the area. I look forward to working with all the relevant groups and to representing their interests in Seanad Éireann,’ he concluded.
