New Festival adjudicator

Padraic McIntyre, founder of member of Livin Dred Theatre Company and the director of Conversations on a Homecoming is set to become a well known face and name around Roscommon in the coming months as he is set to take up residence here as the adjudicator of the 2008 Roscommon Drama Festival. Padraic, who hails from Baillieboro County Cavan is also a founder member of NOMAD Theatre Network. He trained as an actor at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in Cardiff, has worked extensively throughout Ireland and the UK and has just recently received his MA in Theatre Studies from DCU. As Artistic Director of Livin Dred Theatre Company, which is based at the Ramor Theatre in Virginia, Padraic has directed seven shows including: The Beauty Queen of Leenane, Belfry (both of which were nominated for Irish Times Theatre Awards), The Tale of the Blue Eyed Cat, The Snow Child, The Little Dance Girl, The Tinkers Curse and now Conversations on a Homecoming. Padraic also returns to the arts centre in December when he directs this year’s Christmas children’s show, the enchanting tale of The Children of Lir, which will run from December 5th – 7th, twice daily and which is already proving hugely popular with local schools. The dates of the 2008 drama festival have now been confirmed as March 8th – 16th and tickets for all drama festival shows will go on sale in February 2008.
