New exhibition by Lisa Sweeney

Rocommon artist Lisa Sweeney is currently exhibiting at the Norman Villa Gallery in Salthill, Galway. The exhibition opened today (Thursday, June 7th) and runs until June 27th.             The Norman Villa Gallery specialises in contemporary Irish paintings, sculpture, print and ceramics. Ms. Sweeney has attracted a lot of interest since graduating from GMIT with a Fine Arts Degree in 2003 her distinctive atmospheric paintings with their subtle tones highlighted with flashes of colour are immediately engaging but reward repeated viewing, giving up their secrets slowly.             Lisa’s new work is strongly figurative, based on festivals and gatherings of people with the odd crow a trademark of her early work appearing occasionally. A young artist worth looking out for.
