A new package of energy grants includes €2,000 in boiler scrappage support for eligible homeowners switching to heat pumps.
The measures, announced on September 29th, are intended to help households and businesses reduce their reliance on fossil fuels.
The package includes solar panels and battery storage as standard under the fully funded Warmer Homes Scheme, alongside enhanced solar and insulation supports for certain welfare recipients and homes in specified supported tenancies.
Changes to solar eligibility and additional business supports have also been announced.
The measures are due to open from October 6th, subject to final implementation arrangements.
The announcement states that eligible homeowners with heat-pump applications already in progress will receive the additional €2,000 boiler scrappage grant automatically.
Full eligibility rules and application details are to be published by the Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland.
Homeowners should check the relevant scheme conditions before commissioning work.
