Roscommon Community College is delighted to announce the appointment of Ms Georgina Martin as deputy principal of the school.

Ms Martin has been a valued member of the school community, making a significant contribution to school life through her commitment to students, staff and the wider school community.

Ms Martin now joins Dr Jude Lohan, deputy principal, and Ms Georgina Keena-McNulty, principal, as part of the school’s senior management team. The appointment of a second deputy principal reflects the continued growth and development of Roscommon Community College, and the exceptional standard of teaching and learning.

Having graduated from the University of Trinity College with a degree in mathematics, alongside a degree in theology and psychology, Ms Martin began her career in the early 2000s, before joining Roscommon Community College in 2012.

Ms Martin led the Mathematics Department and Numeracy Strategy, and developed strong parental initiatives, including evening programmes to support learning at home. Her work in numeracy also extended to feeder primary schools and the DEIS Excellence Programme with St Coman’s Wood Primary School, where her guidance enabled Transition Year students to visit primary schools to promote mathematics.

She has played a key role in student support, serving as Year Head to several groups throughout her established career. Central to her approach has been ensuring that student wellbeing is supported and reflective of the school ethos.
