‘New blood’ elected at Dublin AGM

The AGM of the Roscommon GAA Supporters Club in Dublin elected three up and coming young members to its officer board. Vincent Moran takes over as Assistant Secretary, Michael Duffy steps in as PRO while Alan Moran becomes Assistant PRO, all key positions in the organisation. The Supporters Club AGM, held recently in Maye’s of Dorset Street, heard that the club is very happy with its initial year acting as main sponsor of the Roscommon GAA County Board’s Coaching and Development programme for under-age players. This sponsorship will continue for another two years when it will be due for review. The Supporters AGM decided to organise a bus from Dublin to the National Football League matches in Monaghan (3rd February) and Armagh (16th March) and all wishing to travel must book in advance with Joe Murray (Treasurer) on (087) 9901260. As space will be limited it will be essential to book as soon as possible. The Club also decided to hold its annual table quiz on Thursday 6th March in The Leinster Cricket Club, in Rathmines, commencing at 8 pm. The venue provides safe, supervised, on site, car parking. Entry fee will be €40 for teams of four and tickets are being printed for advance bookings. The Supporters Club Annual Golf Classic was set for Tuesday 29th April at Lucan Golf Club while the annual dinner will take place on Saturday 18th October in the newly renovated and rebuilt Regency Hotel in Whitehall on the North side of the City. The Supporters Club also made plans for holding its usual Raffle for four All-Ireland finals stand tickets and several other attractive prizes. That will take place during the summer months. The next meeting of the Supporters Club takes place on Tuesday 5th February at 8.30 pm in Maye’s of 45 Dorset Street, Dublin 1. Meetings take place on the first Tuesday of every month in the same venue and at the same time. Roscommon GAA supporters are always welcome to attend without any advance arrangement.
