Naughten to launch new jobs website, skills register

An innovative jobs website tailormade for employers and jobseekers in County Roscommon will be formally launched next week. It is free and easy to use for both employers who wish to post vacancies and for jobseekers who can make their job applications online.

Jobs advertised on the site can be featured to potential job applicants. Employers can review online job applications made to them and select the best applicants for the ongoing recruitment process. Jobseekers can get access to all job vacancies advertised in the county and in the surrounding counties.

The jobs site is also geared to the needs of industry and businesses from outside the county who want to set up in County Roscommon and who need to tap into skills of the local labour force and to the skillsets of student graduates who wish to return to work in their native county.

The website will be launched by Denis Naughten TD Minister for Communications, Climate Change and Natural Resources on Monday, 4th of July in Hannon’s Hotel, Roscommon at 1 pm.

The launch will also be addressed by the new Mayor of Roscommon Cllr. Tony Ward as well as the business community and Claire Hurley, the newly-appointed Manager of the West Regional Skills Forum.

Noel Connolly, Roscommon Leader Partnership, said that “the idea of a free to use county branded jobs website with a Graduate Skills Register is getting good feedback from employers and industry as it reduces their recruitment costs and can attract a skilled reliable labour force that can improve their business growth prospects”.
