National awards for Roscommon students at Enterprise Finals

Students from Roscommon have taken home four prizes at this year’s Student Enterprise Programme National Finals. The finals of the Local Enterprise Office initiative were held physically for the first time in three years at the Helix in Dublin with An Tánaiste Leo Varadkar and host, RTÉ’s Rick O’Shea, with students and teachers in attendance from all over the country.

Supported by Local Enterprise Office Roscommon, Cupán Cozies (Convent of Mercy, Roscommon) won Most Effective Social Media Campaign in the Senior Category. The winning students were Emma O’Farrell, Eva Rogers and Anna Gooney, who worked under the guidance of their teacher, Edel Connelly.

  Cattle Trailer Safety Bar (Scoil Mhuire, Strokestown) took home two prizes: Best Commercial Potential and the Intellectual Property Award in the Intermediate Category. The winning student was Sean McCormack, under teacher Suzanne Lohan.

In the ‘My Entreperneurial Journey’ Competition (Intermediate), GMD Designs won third prize for St. Nathy’s College, Ballaghaderreen. Grace McDermott was the winning student under teacher Karen Munnelly.

An Tánaiste Leo Varadkar, who took part in the ceremony, congratulated the students.
