Santa arrived early to Cian’s Kennels this week with news that the local charity has been selected as one of the 12 chosen charities to win a social media advertising prize worth €3,500 from MyKidsTime
Based in Longford, Cian’s Kennels is a charitable organisation which was set up in March 2020 in memory of 15-year-old Cian Neary, who sadly passed away in September 2019.
Cian had been diagnosed with hepatosplenic T cell lymphoma in September 2018 and as he underwent treatment formed a special bond with his family’s pet Golden Labrador, Cooper.
When in hospital, Cian missed Cooper so with the help and goodwill of many people and organisations, the Nearys managed to bring Cooper to Dublin, where he stayed at kennels to be close to Cian, who was receiving treatment in Crumlin.
Cian’s Kennels was established in the summer of 2019 with the aim of bringing pets closer to sick children and their families.
Thanks to Vincent Collins and the staff at Service Matters, the charity also recently received new jackets and polo shirts for all Cian’s Kennels volunteers.
The team at Cian’s Kennels wishes to say a big thank you to Vincent and all his staff.
