Cllr. Eugene Murphy has joined Senator Terry Leyden in the race for election to Seanad Éireann following confirmation yesterday (Wednesday) of his nomination as a candidate for the Upper House of Oireachtas Éireann. Cllr. Rachel Doherty, meanwhile, is believed to have entered the race for an internal Fianna Fáíl nomination this week. She will seek a nomination from a meeting of the party’s Roscommon Dáilcheantar tonight (Thursday). Full story on page 14.
