In a statement issued to Roscommon People the PRO of the Castlerea Community Arts Project explained that extensive work is underway on a new roof, a new heating system, electrification and on the design of a website for the project. A further €100,000 of Clár funding will be spent on the second phase of the project. ‘While there is always a great amount of behind the scenes work being done on this project, which is not always evident to the public eye, it is now great to see the scaffolding erected and work underway on the restoration of the tower,’ said Ms. Catherine Kellegher. The Trinity PRO told Roscommon People that funding has been secured from the Heritage Council, from the Department of Environment & Local Government, and from Arigna LEADER, from the County Enterprise Board. ‘We say a sincere thank you to the patrons and friends of Trinity Arts. Castlerea Community Arts Group continues to source funding for this project at all level. We are required to match each euro we receive in official funding with funding from the community and this has not been easy but we have struggled on regardless,’ she said. Those interested in the project are invited to become part of this unique and exciting project at www.castlereaarts.com or at 094 96 20898.
