More fun at break-time for pupils!

  Expect to see the children of Fairymount NS swinging from the climbing frames and the kids in Chroi Naofa in Ballinasloe playing hopscotch after these schools were revealed as two of the six schools which are to have improved outdoor play facilities.             Six schools in the region are to have improved outdoor play facilities, it was announced this week. Four schools in County Roscommon are to benefit from grants of €10,000 each. The four are: SN Ronain Naofa, Fairymount NS, Castlerea, Tibohine NS and SN Mhuire Lourdes, Loughglynn. In Ballinasloe, Scoil and Chroi Naofa and Scoil Mhuire at Society Street are both to benefit from grants of €20,000.             The announcement of the €6.25 million allocation was made on Wednesday by the Minister for Education and Science, Mary Hanafin, TD and Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, Éamon Ó Cuív, TD.             Approved projects include repairing and improving hard surface play areas, construction of basketball/soccer and tennis courts, soft and safety play surfaces, marking of games on hard surfaces, swings slides, climbing frames and the painting of murals.
