Minors play Galway on Saturday

Connacht Minor Football League Roscommon v Galway in Hyde Park (Saturday evening at 6 pm) Roscommon minor footballers have their last outing before they play in the Connacht Championship in two weeks’ time when they take on Galway in the final round of games in the Connacht minor league this Saturday evening at Dr. Hyde Park at 6 pm.   It will be a last chance for Gary Wynne and his selectors to take a look at their best players prior to the game against Leitrim (away) in the championship in two weeks’ time.   Gary Wynne told The Roscommon People on Tuesday that he is hopeful that Roscommon can field a strong team for the game.   ‘We are hoping that the lads that are involved with St. Aloysius College will come through their big game on Friday okay because we would like to field our strongest team against Galway. We were delighted to see some of our lads doing well for the various college teams but we have to see what our best team is before the2 championship’ he said.   ‘We played well against Sligo in the last round but I am not certain that they had their best team on the field that day as they had lads playing in college football too. We are looking forward to the challenge of playing Galway on Saturday. They are always very strong at this level’ concluded Gary.
