Roscommon GAA are currently investigating and incident that happened during a minor match in the county yesterday evening, which subsequently led to the the match being abandoned.
The incident in question, which happened during the second half of the match, resulted in the referee needing medical attention and an ambulance was called to the pitch.
In a statement from Roscommon GAA this morning, they said they were aware of the incident and would like to wish the referee involved a speedy recovery.
They also said that they strongly condemn “any behaviour that puts any of our match officials at risk”.
The county’s Competitions Control Committee (CCC) will now commence a full investigation into the incident.
