This Sunday Roscommon hurlers play Cavan in the National Hurling League Div. 3B and it’s a game that they will be expected to win given their recent victories over Longford and Tyrone. The match has been fixed for Knockcroghery at 3.30 pm. Despite being short a number of vital players for Sunday’s game Roscommon team manager David McConn says that he is hoping for another Roscommon win. ‘We will be missing a number of our players for Sunday which is a worry. Liam Murray, Tommy Reddington and Brendan Hanley will all be missing for a variety of reasons and we had to take Shane Sweeney off after two minutes last Sunday so he will be doubtful too. ‘It will be a test of how strong the panel is and that might be a blessing in disguise. We are slowly establishing a winning mentality in the side and are very happy to have won two out of two so far’ he said. ‘It’s all about building up confidence and we hope we can continue on our winning ways again on Sunday next’ David concluded. This is a game that Roscommon should win easily despite missing a number of players because Cavan would be considered weaker than Longford and Tyrone whom Roscommon have beaten in the past few weeks. A win would put Roscommon in pole position for promotion.
