McCarthy Cup, Kilkenny/players for Roscommon?

On Saturday night, October 20th, representatives from the All-Ireland hurling champions, Kilkenny, will be coming to the Royal Hotel, Roscommon Town with the Liam McCarthy Cup.  This momentous occasion is in association with Michelle’s Night Owls Dance in support of local volunteer Anne Marie Kenny, who will be undertaking the Niall Mellon Township Challenge on the first week in November in South Africa.   Not only will the Kilkenny representatives bring the Liam McCarthy Cup, they will also be bringing the Walsh and Leinster cups.  The Roscommon senior hurling team who won the Nicky Rackard Cup earlier this year will also be in attendance on the night.    Michelle and Anne Marie have also organised for all the cups and their representatives to visit Tisrara centre in Four Roads on Sunday morning at 11.45 am after mass to give local children and the children from around the county an opportunity to meet their heroes and get photographs taken with the cups.    The cups will then make their way to Tierney’s Restaurant in Ballygar, Co. Galway at approximately 2 pm. The cups will then make their way to Athleague where the County senior hurling  final will be taking place.     Michelle is urging everybody, young and not so young, to come along and make this a memorable occasion   Michelle is also urging anybody over 21 to come along to the Castle Suite in Roscommon on Saturday night, 20th to support Anne Marie on her venture. The line-up includes ‘Off The Cuff Band’ from Donegal with Special Guest Appearance by Local Singer/Songwriter Adrian Martin Murphy and The Strawboys from County Mayo.
