To mark National Tree Week a Forest Walk will take place in Mote Park on Saturday, 8th March at 3 pm. Meeting at the entrance to Roscommon Golf Club. The theme this year is ‘Trees and Water’ and the walk will take participants to an area of forest adjacent to Roscommon town at Carrowroe, where species of trees have been planted to take account of soil conditions in the area. Following the walk a talk on hedgerow species will take place at Derrydonnel, Mote Park, which will incorporate planting of a hedgerow by participants.
