A man is due in court next month charged in connection with a scam that allegedly saw an elderly Roscommon man being conned out of a large sum of money last May. Roscommon Gardaí had been investigating the incident, which occurred in Fuerty at the end of May, when the victim was approached at his property and asked if he wished to buy some shoes. According to the complaint, when the elderly man agreed to purchase the shoes and took money out of his wallet, it was snatched from him before the alleged salesman sped away, throwing five pairs of shoes on the ground as he fled. |
