LookWest.ie Expo to outline opportunities in Roscommon

The Western Development Commission has announced details of the 2007 LookWest.ie Jobs and Enterprise Expo. This free event is for people living in the Greater Dublin Area who want to move to the West for career or business opportunities and to enjoy a high quality of life, and will take place on Thursday September 20th (today) from 1.00 to 8.00 pm at the Davenport Hotel in Dublin. Sixteen companies and six recruitment agencies, with hundreds of current vacancies will be there, as well as development agencies including Enterprise Ireland, Údarás na Gaeltachta and Shannon Development who want to tell existing and potential business owners of the attractions of doing business in the Western Region. Gillian Buckley, WDC Chief Executive said ‘The event will host companies and recruitment agencies from the region that have current vacancies in areas such as engineering, financial services, hospitality, life sciences, sales and customer services. They are keen to meet and talk to people who want to make the move West. There has been great interest from companies in exhibiting.   There are hundreds of opportunities for people who might have moved to Dublin to get their career started but are now weary of long commutes, the higher cost of living and tired of having little free time to spend with family and friends. ‘As well as people who are looking for a career move, the Expo will also provide information to people who want to relocate or set up a business in the region. Many people have years of experience of running a business or working in Dublin. For those who are thinking about moving that business or setting up a new one in the West, there will be lots of information there including County Enterprise Boards, Business Innovation Centres, County Development Boards and state agencies who can help businesses get started or expand. The Roscommon county stand will include representation from Roscommon County Enterprise Board and Roscommon County Development Board.’
