Long-serving Fianna Fáil members honoured

Twenty four long-serving members of the Fianna Fáil party in the Ballymoe Comhairle Ceanntair were honoured at a function in the Glencastle Lounge in Glinsk recently. They were presented with certificates of achievements by Minister of State for Overseas Development Mr. Michael Kitt TD.    A large crowd attended this most enjoyable event which was instigated by the Chairman of the Comhairle Ceanntair, Jackie Conway. Refreshments were provided by the Comhairle Ceanntair.    Old members honoured had may stories to tell of past election meetings and of meetinga all the leaders of the party from Eamon DeValera to Bertie Ahern. Deputy Kitt thanked all the recipients for their long years of service to Fianna Fáil and wished them many more years of health and happiness.    Local councillors present were Tom Reilly and Michael Connolly. Apologies were received from Noel Treacy, Seán Ó Neachtáin MEP and former councillor Tom Hussey.
