Recently, transition year students from all three local secondary schools – Roscommon Community College, CBS Roscommon, and the Convent of Mercy – met in the CBS Roscommon woodwork room, where, as a result of the idea of Mark Kearney (CBS board of management member and committee member of Roscommon Golf Club), they sanded, treated, and varnished over 40 tables for the golf club.
It was great to see so many students give up their Saturday to help a local club. Refreshments were provided by the men’s committee of the golf club and some green fees also, to encourage some students to try golf out!
