Cloverhill Nursing Home in County Roscommon has confirmed that two female residents who had been ill for some time have sadly passed away due to Covid-19. Another resident is being treated in Roscommon Hospital.
The Manager of Cloverhill Nursing Home said everyone at the home was very upset at the news and wanted to extend their sincere condolences to the family and friends of the residents who had passed away.
Last week, Cloverhill Nursing Home confirmed that 22 residents and 16 staff members had tested positive for Covid-19.
On Wednesday evening, the Health Protection Surveillance Centre said it had been informed that a total of 11 people with Covid-19 had died in Ireland in the previous 24 hours.
There have now been a total 1,571 Covid-19 related deaths in Ireland, and 24,315 confirmed cases.
Meanwhile, a Dáil debate will take place today (Thursday) on the scale of Covid-19 infection within the meat processing industry.
