Local horses on a winning streak!

There were celebrations in the Strokestown area over the weekend as the Sliabh Ban stables produced two winners in Down Royal on Saturday, Sunday and Tuesday last. One horse, Proud Ruler, actually won on Sunday and Tuesday!   The first winner came on Saturday and is a horse by the name of Nora Chrissy. Local businessman Leo Cox (of EDA Cox Construction) owns this horse. Niall Moran trains the horse and this was its second win this season, having also performed admirably in its other runs to date.    The second winner came on Sunday afternoon in the 3.15 pm at Down Royal. The horse’s name is Proud Ruler and it’s owned and trained by Niall Moran. The horse is also part of the Sliabh Bain set-up.   Then came a remarkable double for Proud Ruler when it won the 6 o’clock in Sligo on Tuesday.    Leo Cox this week told the People that he and Niall Moran were delighted with the success of the horses.
