This year’s SuperValu Tidy Towns awards for the North West and West region were presented on Thursday, 3rd of November, at a prize-giving ceremony in Hotel Westport, Westport, Co. Mayo.
SuperValu Tidy Towns winners were presented with their awards by Mr. Michael Ring, Minister for Regional Economic Development, and Richard Lennon, SuperValu Regional Manager, proud sponsors of the competition. Also joining the Minister on stage was Brian Quinn of Fáilte Ireland.
Both Castlecoote and Keadue won a gold medal in the National Awards category, Roscommon won a silver medal and Ballintubber won a bronze medal.
In the County Awards, Castlecoote was the County Winner, followed by Keadue, Ballintubber and Kilteevan. Ballintubber also won a Special Award for the Let’s Get Buzzing Pollinator Award, which is sponsored by local authorities.
