Local businesses win big at Irish Restaurant Awards

Four local businesses, The Old Stone House Restaurant in Ballinlough and Coffey’s Bar in Lecarrow along with Bastion K2tchen and Hesters Golden Eagle Bar & Restaurant from Castlerea, have all come away with top awards from last nights ‘Connacht Regional Best Restaurant Awards’ which took place in The Landmark Hotel in Carrick-on-Shannon.

Bastion K2tchen won the ‘Best Café’ award, Hesters Golden Eagle Bar & Restaurant came away as winners of the ‘Best Gastro Pub’, The Old Stone House Restaurant in Ballinlough was named ‘Best Restaurant’, while Coffey’s Bar in Lecarrow was named ‘Pub of the Year’ in each of their regional categories.

Other businesses from around the area were also very successful at last night’s awards, a list of each winner in the Roscommon region is listed below:

  •   The winner of Best Emerging Irish Cuisine went to Regans Gastro Pub and Restaurant Roscommon
  •   The winner of Best World Cuisine Roscommon went to Zaiqa Restaurant Roscommon
  •   The winner of Best Casual Dining went to Regans Gastro Pub and Restaurant Roscommon
  •   The winner of Best Chef went to Daniel Willimont of Kilronan Castle in Ballyforan
  •   The winner of Best Customer Service was Lovage At The Gate Lodge in Boyle
  •   The winner of the Best Hotel and Guesthouse Restaurant went to Keenans Hotel Bar and Restaurant in Tarmonbarry
  •   The winner of the Best Newcomer award went to The Lovage in Boyle
  •   The winner of the Best Wine Experience went to The Purple Onion Kitchen in Tarmonbarry
