LIS allocations welcomed

An allocation totalling €569,101 for the Local Improvement Scheme in County Roscommon was welcomed this week by Deputy Michael Finneran.             ‘The allocation of €569,101 from the Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government for Local Improvement Schemes for County Roscommon represents a fifteen percent increase on the amount allocated for 2006.             ‘This allocation will be used for the improvement of non national roads and access roads to houses, land and farms. Roscommon County Councillors in consultation with the engineering staff of Roscommon County Council will prioritise this allocation and work will be carried out on the individual roads this year.’
