The Roscommon Lions Club raised over €7,000 for its Ukrainian Appeal following a number of bucket collections across Roscommon town last weekend.
Volunteers held collections in Roscommon town on Friday and Saturday and outside Dr. Hyde Park ahead of the National Football League Division Two match between Roscommon and Derry on Sunday.
A statement from the Roscommon Lions Club read: “Our appeal in aid of the people of Ukraine was very successful and raised over €7,000. The club would like to thank members and volunteers who helped with the collection. We are very grateful for the generosity shown by the local community and visitors to Roscommon including the very gracious Derry supporters last Sunday”.
The Roscommon Lions Club AGM takes place at The Quad in Roscommon town next Thursday (March 24th) at 8 pm. All are welcome.
