Roscommon Lions Club presented a cheque for €5,000 to Roscommon Gaels Chairperson Teresa Hession towards the construction of their new dressing rooms in Lisnamult. In presenting the cheque, Noel Connolly, President of the Lions Club pointed out the excellent contribution the Gaels make to the health and wellbeing of hundreds of children and youth in Roscommon parish and the importance of sport in character formation.
Accepting the donation on behalf of the Gaels, Teresa Hession thanked the Lions Club for their generosity and pointed out that their members were delighted to be able to support the Lions’ recent charity walk fundraiser.
Ms. Hession also acknowledged the work of the Lions Club over the years, not only with young people but also with the elderly, carers, and many other groups in need of support in the community.
Further proceeds from the Lions Club’s Charity Walk are going towards the Safe Centres for Syrian Refugee children project.
