If you are looking for fun, music, entertainment and lots of toys then the Late Toy and Variety Show which takes place in the Percy French Hotel in Strokestown on Saturday, 24th of November (8 pm) could be just the answer for the little people in your life.
This novel event has been organised by the Strokestown Community Development Association with the community playground committee in a bid to raise funds for the ongoing upkeep and development of the playground in the town.
Well-known comedian and actor Katherine Lynch, who hails from Mohill, will be a special guest on the night along with comedian Frank Forde and well-known local singer Miriam Gunn. Local children will also be involved with various toy reviews and there will be plenty of comedy, music, dancing and much more.
The toys on display on the night will be from the newly-extended toy store in Dawn Till Dusk, Strokestown.
Chairman of the Strokestown Community Development Association, Deputy Eugene Murphy encouraged as many people as possible to turn out on the night to support this very worthy event. Deputy Murphy said that part two of the Strokestown playground project has now been finalised and is due to open shortly, “making it one of the finest playgrounds in the country”.
He added: “Funds are needed to meet ongoing costs and upkeep so the Late Toy and Variety Show is a really novel idea to help raise funds for the playground and we urge as many children and families as possible to turn out on the night. There will be plenty of surprises and even some giveaways on the night”.
