ICSA is this week reporting a tremendous response to their lamb giveaway on O’Connell Street last week. The promotion was designed to highlight the low prices farmers are getting for lamb. Over 400 people attended the giveaway on Ireland’s premier street. Mervyn Sunderland, ICSA Sheep Chairman, said, ‘Maybe now the retailers will realise that the price they are paying for Irish lamb is unsustainable, and that they had better improve their prices to farmers if they want to maintain supplies and satisfy their customers.’
