Lakes and Legends Festival promises great family fun!

The annual Ballaghaderreen Lakes and Legends Festival will take place from Friday, August 16th to Sunday, August 18th this year and will see the iconic Midnight Club reopening for one weekend only!

This year’s festival will kick off with an ‘80s Disco in the Midnight Club on Friday night from 10.30 pm. This promises to be a night full of nostalgia; if you’re too young to remember the Friday night discos of years ago, prepare to be amazed!

Michael English and his band will be in Ballaghaderreen on Saturday, August 17th with special guest, Carrie Loftus. This event is in association with Ballaghaderreen Boxing Club and there will be a late bar on the night. Doors open at 9 pm and entry is just €15. An after-show country disco will follow the live music.

Family Fun Day takes place on Sunday, August 18th with a whole host of events for the whole family to enjoy including the inaugural Ballagh Ball Race from 3 pm and a wonderful Dog Show from 3.30 pm.

There will also be a local walking tour taking place from 12 pm to 2 pm on Sunday. The walk will take in the Bockagh Hill Loop which is 4.5km. Meet at The Square at 11.30 am.

This year’s Lakes and Legends Festival will come to a close on Sunday evening at the Family Dance with live music from Chris Dallat from 7 pm to 9 pm. Admission is €8 per person or €15 for two people and U-16s go free. There will also be a raffle on the night.
