Kilmore into final

Abbey Hotel League O’Rourke Cup semi-final Kilmore                         1-12 Castlerea St. Kevins     1-10 In one of the most enjoyable games of senior club football seen in the county this year Kilmore surprised Castlerea last Saturday in Elphin to qualify for the 2007 O’Rourke Cup SF Div. 1 final in which they will take on St. Brigids.   Castlerea had the first score on the board but it was Kilmore who got into an impressive stride and when Shane Sharkey scored a goal in the 9th minute they were 1-3 to 0-1 ahead.   However Ger Heneghan was playing well for Castlerea and he scored a great goal in the 17th minute to help his side to draw level by  half-time. Half-time score was 1-6 each.   Kilmore were the stronger side in a very well-contested second half and points from Emmet Flood, Pat Caslin, Derek Connellan and Gary Connellan saw them edge out a gallant Castlerea side after a great game of league football.
