Roscommon town’s Kevin Glynn and Ballymurray’s Megan Healy Cribben, who are cousins, were recently crowned world champions at Irish dancing.
At the CRN World Open Championships in Breaffy House Resort, Co. Mayo, at the end of June, Kevin scooped the top prize in the Under-15 boys’ event, while Megan won the Under-19 girls’ category.
Their success has been celebrated by fellow dancers, their families and of course their teachers, Colette and Sinéad Glynn, from the Shannon Academy of Irish Dance in Roscommon town.
A reception to honour Kevin and Megan’s feats was hosted in Gleeson’s Townhouse & Restaurant in the county town last Saturday night. Several councillors attended to extend their congratulations to the victorious duo.
