Unsuccessful general election candidate Cllr. John Kelly has told the Roscommon People that he would not rule out joining either Fianna Fail or Fine Gael in the future provided he was promised a nomination to run for Dail Eireann. Mr. Kelly polled a very respectable 4,440 votes in last Thursday’s election, which saw sitting TDs Michael Finneran and Denis Naughten returned with Fine Gael taking a second seat through Frank Feighan at the expense of sitting Fianna Fail TD John Ellis. Cllr. Kelly, refused to blame the HAC for his poor showing in Roscommon town.
