A Strokestown family has been given a week to respond to injunction proceedings initiated by KBC bank.
KBC is seeking an order requiring members of the McGann family to vacate their home at Falsk, near Strokestown.
The family were evicted from their home last December in a high profile case. A number of days after that eviction, security personnel engaged at the property by KBC bank were attacked by a group of men. There is no suggestion of any involvement by the McGann family in the latter incident. The McGann family have since moved back into the property.
In the High Court, Counsel for KBC bank issued injunction proceedings. Counsel for the McGanns noted that separate proceedings have been issued challenging the lawfulness of the warrant for possession and the manner in which it was executed.
Ms Justice Leonie Reynolds gave the respondents a week to file sworn statements in response to the bank’s action and adjourned the case for two weeks.
