Jaguar Land Rover is to cut around 4,000 jobs worldwide over the next two years as part of a major restructuring programme.
The job losses represent almost 10 per cent of the luxury car manufacturer’s global workforce and are expected to be achieved largely through voluntary redundancies.
Jaguar Land Rover employs around 43,000 people globally, including approximately 34,000 in the UK.
The company has not yet confirmed precisely where the reductions will fall.
The carmaker is seeking around £1.7 billion in savings as it responds to increased competition, tariffs and changing conditions within the global motor industry.
The company also continues to recover from a major cyberattack in 2025 which disrupted production.
Despite the restructuring, Jaguar Land Rover plans to invest between £15 billion and £18 billion over the next five years in new models, electrification, technology and manufacturing.
