Ita and Emoe Bailey on a winning streak!

Ita McDermott, Emoe, Lanesboro Road, Roscommon got the summer off to a good start with numerous wins with her horse Emoe Bailey, when they travelled to the International Show at Mullingar Equestrian Centre for the Ballymaloe ladies 1.10 qualifier. Out of a start list of 108 the pair slipped into the lead early in the competition, and held the lead throughout. This win ensured the pair of a qualifying place for the final in Cork later this year.   Ita and Bailey then went to Crossmolina, Co. Mayo to the Riverview Horse Show. At this show there was a start list of 150 horses and yet again the pair were unbeatable. Sponsored by Howard Stone they won the prize of €1000. Only last Saturday the winning combination went back to Mullingar for the 1.10 qualifier for the Northern Ireland Horse Show in the Odyssey Arena, in Belfast. There, they went for a steady clear and finished third out of a start list of 154. Only seven qualify so this ensures them of their place at the show in October.    The day after they went to Galway County Show on Calrenbridge. Emoe Bailey took the lead early in the competition with a time of 25.54. This proved untouchable as the next closest time was 28.71. There were over 200 competitors in this class and Ita and Emoe Bailey were yet again victorious. This weekend they will be going to Louisberg on Saturday and Easkey on Sunday. Let’s hope they have as much success throughout the year.
