Roscommon hurlers suffered one of their worst defeats in recent years when they were well beaten by Louth at Dr Hyde Park by 2-16 to 0-15.
Louth did most of the damage in the first half at the end if which they led by 2-10 to 0-7.
Roscommon were better in a second half they played with only 14 men after Eoin Fitzgerald was sent off just before half-time.
The hosts did reduce the margin to just four points, but they just couldn’t get the goals they needed and Louth closed out the win without too much trouble.
