Roscommon’s hurlers take on Fermanagh in the final group game in Division 3B on Sunday in Lisnaskea – throw-in at 3.30pm. Should Roscommon win then they will top the League table and be promoted to Division 2 for next season. The top team in Division 3A and 3B will be promoted. A win would also guarantee David McConn’s team a place in the Division 3 semi-finals which will be played on the 15th of April with the final going ahead on April 29th. The Roscommon team manager says that another win is vital on Sunday. ‘We are happy with the way things are going so far and the team is increasing in confidence with every game. We need to win on Sunday and we should be able to achieve that. We set promotion as our aim and we are within sight of that now’ he told me. Roscommon will again be without Shane Sweeney, Brendan Hanley and Gary Fallon who are all still injured but after last weekend’s demolition of Cavan Roscommon will be confident that they can beat second from bottom Fermanagh. ‘It would be great to be involved in the semi-finals and finals of Division 3 and it would bring us right up to the club championship which will mean that players will be getting plenty of competitive hurling and that’s what we want’ he concluded.
