A reward of €10,000 is being offered by the Irish Crimestoppers Trust for information which may help to apprehend the person responsible for three assaults on women in the town of Athlone in recent weeks. The Trust have launched a campaign to assist the Gardai in their investigations into the three assaults which took place on August 12th September 23rd and October 3rd in the Bonavalley Bridge area, which is on the Dublin road in the town. Gardai believe that the asaults were all carried out by the same man. Gardai have issued an identikit photograph of the man based on descriptions given to them during their investigations. The man the Gardai are looking for is said to be aged between 25 and 30, is tall with black hair and was wearing a dark top and jeans. Gardai also say that the man may have cuts and/or scratches on his hands. Athlone Gardai say that they have received a huge response from the public on the matter since they launched their appeal for information. They say that they are not yet folllowing a definite line of enquiry and that they are still appealing for information.
