Huge turn-out for launch of new luxury homes at Oldwood

Huge numbers of people converged on Roscommon’s Golf Links Road last Saturday afternoon to witness the launch of phase two of the Oldwood Housing Development. More than 50 luxury four bedroom family homes are now being offered for sale there by Property Partners Earley, Stone Court, Roscommon. Sitting on the edge of Mote Park, it is adjacent to Roscommon Golf  Club and is within walking distance of the town centre. Houses are priced from €544,950.   This newly-developed estate, which nestles into an idyllic landscape on the edge of Roscommon town, is easily one of the most exclusive and sought-after addresses in County Roscommon.    More than 800 people visited Oldwood for viewings of the two fully furnished showhouses over the course of the weekend. Speaking to Roscommon People on Tuesday afternoon auctioneer Mr. John Earley explained that interest in the development is ‘massive’ and noted that already deposits have been taken for two of the houses.   Queues numbering 20 people waited outside the doors of the two show houses all day Sunday at a housing launch that generated unprecedented interest and colour in this area.    A crowd of 300 gathered at the Golf Links Road location from two o’clock on Saturday where representatives of Property Partners Earley and Carrowroe Properties Ltd. showcased the new houses. The directors of Carrowroe Properties Ltd., Tommie and David Doran, are well-known property developers in the Roscommon region and have established a large and successful plant hire business in the Irish midlands over the course of the last decade.    Local government TD Michael Finneran performed the official opening of phase two of Oldwood on Saturday afternoon. A number of other public representatives also attended together as did Mr. Pat O’Rourke of Irish Cements Ltd.   Speaking as he officially launched the development, Deputy Finneran reflected on the quality of the houses. The 53 homes have received the BER ‘A’ rated certificate for concrete built homes and consequently offer prospective buyers remarkable energy savings of up to 60% annually. Phase two of Oldwood is the first Irish development to receive the BER ‘A’ rated certificate for concrete built homes. Mr. O’Rourke, who was present in recognition of this, also briefly addressed guests. Representatives of Nuaire Home Ventilation Ireland – the company that specializes in this area – also attended the launch.     Deputy Finneran praised the Doran brothers and Carrowroe Properties Ltd for constructing ‘homes of tomorrow’ to the highest quality and wished the company the best of success with the Oldwood project.   Deputy Finneran, who is a close friend of the Doran family, described Oldwood as ‘unique’ and ‘attractive’ and commented that the development offers home-seekers the benefits of both rural and urban living.    Oldwood sits on the doorstep of scenic Mote Park and is within walking distance of Roscommon town centre. Forensic attention to detail has gone into every aspect of the development and very carefully detailed housing has resulted from this. Phase two of Oldwood combines the quality and style associative of phase one of the development and also keeps pace with the changing demands of Irish home-buyers.   Each home is ‘future proofed’ offering owners the luxury of having their homes wired for audio, intelligent lighting, home cinema, security and entertainment all through one Home Automation System hub.   All bedrooms are cabled with TV/multimedia, phone and PC points which are cabled back to the hub from where services such as Sky, broadband etc are distributed. The system also facilitates those who wish to install a home entertainment system, controlled lighting or CCTV.   The painstaking attention that Carrowroe Properties Ltd. gave to detail in this phase of the development is obvious from the specifically designed and crafted blue Irish limestone finish of each home through to the complementary limestone of the magnificent entrance to the development.   These unique houses are 2,400 square feet in area and are available from €544,950.
