Mayo Roscommon Hospice is this week calling on people in County Roscommon who want to help the local palliative care service to take part in the 10k Flora Mini Marathon on the June Bank Holiday weekend. Entry forms will appear in the Evening Herald every Thursday and Saturday from this Thursday 28th February until 27th March. The numbers of entries is strictly limited so it is very important to enter early to avoid disappointment. No entries will be accepted once the maximum number is reached and transport will be provided. HSE West have just approved the development of an eight-bed support unit in Roscommon and a 14-bed specialist unit in Castlebar. Sites for both units have been selected. The units will cost almost €22 million to build. The Foundation has given a commitment to raise €11 million, 50 percent of the capital costs. Your support would be greatly appreciated.
