Holistic therapies and lots of gift ideas at Christmas Fair

The Royal Hotel is the place to be this Saturday as the RosWIN Pre-Christmas Fair takes place with a range of gift ideas for the whole family. The fair gets underway at noon and will feature demonstrations throughout the day from a range of holistic therapists and other exhibitors at the Fair. Contact Anna Maria Carroll,  The Old School of Holistic Therapies, (086) 1598295 for more details. RosWIN, a business network for Roscommon women in business, is promoting the pre-Christmas Fair. The aim of RosWIN is to encourage people, particularly women, to think about becoming self-employed and thus promote social inclusion. It is hoped that a Town Crier will be found in time to promote the fair and a big voice, big personality and own bell are the job requirements for this particular post.  Members of the public can also take a look a the Performers Corner, where a range of artists, including poets, singers, musicians, dangers and tai chai experts will be on hand to entertain guests for slots of up to 20 minutes. Alternatively, you could unwind with a cup of Fair Trade tea or coffee. Younger audience members can look forward to a number of workshops for children. A huge range of demonstrations will be available on the day, including holistic demos and skin care demos, as well as the modelling of wedding dresses and hats. RosWIN members will also promote their goods and services in the areas of art and crafts, health and beauty, holistic, sustainable living, fashion, personal and business services, Roscommon Wedding Ring and much much more. Among the exhibitors at Saturday’s Fair will be accredited counsellor and psychotherapist Christina Somers. Christina is accredited with the Irish Association of Counselling/Psychotherapy and is widely experienced. Problem areas covered in counselling include addictions, anxiety, bereavement, depression, eating disorders, illness, relationships, physical and sexual abuse, stress, suicide and many others.  The Roscommon Women’s Intercultural Quilt on display throughout the day and it is hoped that members of the Quilt Project Team will attend and be able to talk to everyone about their participation in this project. For more information on this Quilt, contact Nora Fahy, Project Co-ordinator on (071) 96 34686 or (086) 8099154.
