Ballinlough and Granlahan are the latest areas in County Roscommon to become a Heartsafe community The award was presented to the Ballinlough/Granlahan Defibrillator Group by the Irish Heart Foundation at a function in O’Connor’s Lounge in Ballinlough on February 15th last. The award recognised efforts by the local community over the past year which culminated in the provision of seven defibrillators for the area and the training if 108 volunteers in CPR and defibrillator use. It was an honour for the committee to receive such an award and they accepted it wholeheartedly on behalf of the community. The Committee would like to thank everyone who has participated in the project to date especially those who contributed so generously and volunteered for training. Training is ongoing so the committee encourage volunteers to continue to put their names forward.
